Here's some new poll data as of Friday, the 18th. Sorry I didn't get these out earlier. After McCain's initial bounce from NH, things have calmed down and the Gov. is closing the gap in SC once again. Also note that Rasmussen has Huck in second place nationally again. Good news. I've also added the delegate totals to the bottom of the standings. As I mentioned before, I think there is a good chance this will be a brokered convention, with a lot of swapping and deal making on the floor. Might be interesting.

I’m writing you as we travel between events here in South Carolina. This is important, so please take a minute now to hear me out.
Chip Saltsman, my national campaign manager and I just reviewed our final get out the vote plan. While we feel it is a strong plan, we have isolated one area that needs strengthening and immediate improvement. We want to increase our voter identification and turnout calls and the price tag for these additional calls is $300,000.
Will you make an immediate contribution of $15, $25, $50, $100, $250 or even $500 today online to help us fund this effort?
We have set a goal of raising this money by tomorrow at midnight so we can ramp up our calls in time for the South Carolina primary. If your financial support comes in after this deadline we won't be able to invest it in time for the South Carolina primary.
I firmly believe, this may be the difference between victory and defeat for our effort in South Carolina on Saturday. We must raise $300,000 immediately. If everyone receiving this email gave at least $25 we would more than triple our goal. But please don't count on someone else because reaching this goal is going to take leadership from you.
With deep gratitude,

Remember, I will match all donations, dollar for dollar, until my donation goal is met. Use donor code 41 so that I know you have donated from this blog. | | | |

I know that the American people are hurting. Traveling this country, I hear their stories; I know that Main Street, as well as Wall Street, is threatened by a weakening economy. But we are all in this together.
We are coming off the weakest holiday shopping season in five years, with consumer spending slowing, housing starts fell in December to their lowest annualized rate since 1993, and foreclosures on subprime mortgages might reach two million by the end of next year. Washington needs to do more to help American families as they struggle to stay in their homes and put food on the table.
Two factors affect Americans' spending. First, they have to have money in their pockets to spend. Consumer spending is expected to grow only 1.6% this quarter, compared to 2.6% in the last quarter of 2007. Second, they have to have the confidence to spend it. When people feel good about their prospects, our economy expands; when people feel anxious, our economy contracts. Washington needs to immediately address both concerns. That's why I am putting forward a long-term plan, as well as a short-term plan, so that we can boost confidence RIGHT NOW, while adding to our national strength for the 21st century. Americans want to work, and they want to work hard. They want to compete, and to compete hard. They want to win.
Now is the time to unleash the economic power of the United States of America. We need a new generation of leadership to take us forward into the 21st century.
There are many ideas under discussion in Washington right now, and I hope that our incumbent officials will take responsible action. But as I travel through the Heartland, I just have one urgent message to Washington: Hurry Up!
To read the specifics of my plan, click here. After you finishing reviewing the plan, I encourage you to leave a comment on our blog.
With deep gratitude,

Those of us who are Huckabee supporters have had to deal with bloggers/pundits and others throwing the "Club for Growth" attacks in our faces. We've responded by showing how the facts are incomplete, that their template has no basis in reality, and wondered why they have been so strident in their attacks on the Gov.
Well, here's a little info that might clear the waters a tad. Note who the big donors to the non-profit organization are:
The Club for Growth has an affiliated 527 group, Club for Growth.net, running anti-Mike Huckabee ads in early primary states.
- At least $585,000 in contributions from Mitt Romney financial backers.
- Club for Growth has spent $750,000 against Governor Huckabee in Iowa, South Carolina and Michigan.
Here are donors that have donated both to Club for Growth.net* and Mitt Romney:

You see, we supporters keep claiming there's an agenda against him, We keep asking news organizations to look at who is funding these hit pieces against the Gov. Well here you have it, in blue and white, Mitt Romney!

If you've been living under a rock for the last week or so you may have missed John McCain's big win in New Hampshire. This has propelled him to the top of the polls, both nationally and in many states. He is pulling values voters away from the Gov. causing him to drop a bit in the polls. As we saw in the Democratic voting, the polls are not always accurate. But nonetheless, this is cause for concern for Huck's campaign. I'll say it again, the time is now to act if you are a true supporter of the Gov's campaign. Donate! Now! Anything you can. Even a dollar, every little bit helps. South Carolina, Florida, and Super Tuesday are not far off. The man needs your help to win!
